Soundbites: July 2015 Sales

Strong demand for its newest products lifted Ford Motor Company to its best July U.S. sales performance since 2006, with a total of 222,731 vehicles sold last month.  Here to explain is Ford Sales Analyst, Erich Merkle.

Cut#1 “Our sales were up 5 percent, over a year ago, and that was our best July sales performance since 2006.”:09 sec.

 

Leading the way,  Ford F-Series. F-Series retail sales are up 13 percent, providing the best July retail results since 2006.

Cut#2 “Customers are really enjoying the new F-150. They love the technology, they love the capability of the vehicle.  What’s even more  interesting, is that while retail sales were up 13 percent, we have established and are maintaining record average transaction prices of 44 thousand dollars per truck.” :20 sec.

 

Van sales increased 14 percent last month with a total of 16,090 vehicles sold. The all-new Transit,  drove Ford’s commercial van business to 15-year sales highs.

Cut#3 “Van sales have been performing so well for us all year, particularly the all-new Transit.  So our commercial vans sales totaled 16,090 vehicles that’s a 14 percent increase and our  best van sales month since 2000, so going back 15 years. So it just goes to tell ya when, when America goes to work, it turns to Ford.” :22 sec.

 

Explorer momentum continued with 21,361 sales – a 27 percent increase. All-new Edge performance contributed to the increase as well, with sales up 17 percent for July.

Cut#4 “SUV’s they were up 11 percent, and that gave us our best July SUV sales performance in 10 years going back to 2005.  Explorer, turning on dealer lots in 13 days, with a 27 percent Increase over last year.  Edge turning on dealer lots in 18 days and up 17 percent year over year.” :22 sec.

 

 Mustang sales increased 29 percent compared to a year ago. Southern California, America’s largest sports car region, continues to drive Mustang performance, with retail sales up 81 percent in July.  

Cut#5 “Our Mustang sales for the month totaled 8,482 cars that was up 29 percent, and our best July sales since 2008.  And what we’re really seeing is Southern California, just continues to work really well for us,  as sales in that region of the country were up 81 percent.  It’s America’s largest sports car region, Mustang is number one in that region as well as in America.” :24 sec.

 

Lincoln sales increased 21 percent versus a year ago, for the best July sales results in a decade.

Cut#6”MKC is coming from SUV’s cause MKC was up 60 percent, the new Navigator 24 percent and the all new MKX was up 27 percent and turning on dealer lots in just 6 days. And when you look at our Lincoln SUV sales for the month we had our best Lincoln SUV sales month in July,  dating all the way back to 2001.” :21 sec.
