Custom 2016 Shelby GT350R Mustang to be Auctioned at Cattle Baron’s Ball in Aid of American Cancer Society

DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 22, 2015 – Ford Motor Company is to auction a one-of-a-kind 2016 Shelby® GT350R Mustang for the American Cancer Society 2015 Cattle Baron’s Ball charity auction on Saturday, Sept. 26.

This special edition GT350R will be a one-of-a-kind creation for the event, featuring an Oxford white exterior with unique blue stripe and color design.

The unique blue stripe matches the accent stitching on the interior, including door panels, seats, center console, instrument panel and steering wheel. The Mustang features carbon fiber exterior accents and is the first Shelby GT350R with a Ford Performance Parts rear seat kit. It will also include Cattle Baron’s Ball “one-of-one” sill plates and instrument panel badging.

Suppliers that donated time and materials to make this vehicle truly one-of-a-kind include: Carbon 2 Carbon, Detroit Manufacturing Systems, Faurecia North America, HFI, Ice Nine Group, Kay Automotive Graphics, Lear Corporation, Mad Industries, Recaro North America and Schmidt-Bowman Co., Inc.

“We are customizing this unique Shelby GT350R Mustang to attract the highest possible bids from car collectors and, ultimately, the most money to support American Cancer Society research, programs and services for cancer survivors and their loved ones,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford Motor Company group vice president, Global Purchasing and Honorary Chair of the Cattle Baron’s Ball.

Since 2003, the American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball has enjoyed record-breaking success and is recognized as one of the most distinctive charitable events in Metro Detroit. Guests of Cattle Baron’s Ball enjoy a unique Western-themed event complete with live entertainment, Texas-style cuisine provided by Detroit’s finest eateries, dancing, a high-end live and silent auction, and other special attractions. This year’s event will feature a performance by country duo The Swon Brothers.
