DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 15, 2016 – To fully appreciate the next-level capability of the all-new 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty, you need to take your vantage point to the next level, literally.
Drones captured bird’s-eye-view photos and videos of new Super Duty trucks driving on highways, rural roads and mountain passes outside Denver. Many trucks are pictured towing conventional, fifth-wheel and gooseneck trailers.
The all-new truck is the most capable Super Duty ever, with best-in-class maximum gooseneck towing capacity of 32,500 pounds on F-450, class-leading fifth-wheel towing capacity of 27,500 pounds and best-in-class conventional towing of 21,000 pounds.
The photo and video footage was captured with drones developed by DJI and piloted by Multicopter Warehouse. Ford and DJI are collaborating on the DJI Developer Challenge. The challenge is designed for innovators to create drone-to-vehicle communications using Ford SYNC® AppLink™ or OpenXC and DJI’s software development kit, with a goal of generating a surveying system for the United Nations Development Program to inspect emergency zones inaccessible to even the most versatile vehicles.
