Sales momentum for Ford trucks and SUVs continued through the first half of the year. Here to explain is Sales Analyst Erich Merkle.
Cut #1 “So for the first half, we sold almost a million vehicles at 972,555 trucks and SUVs. That was up 2 percent over a year ago.” :10 sec.
Ford F-Series is also doing extremely well the first half of the year.
Cut #2 “We sold just over 450,000 of them and if we take a look at that and we compare that to our record year for F-Series back in 2004, that’s a little over 4 percent ahead of that pace back in 2004." :17 sec.
Ford Expedition has also done well for Ford during the month of June.
Cut #3 “Ford Expedition retail sales were up just over 37 percent in the first half and in June they were up 21 percent.” :09 sec.
Another new product launch by Ford this year was the EcoSport.
Cut #4 “We had our best sales performance last month with just over 6,700 sold which was about a 23 percent increase from the month of May so we continue to see EcoSport expand and sell more as we get more of these vehciles out to dealer lots.” :17 sec.
Lincoln Navigator is moving quickly off the lot and Merkle says triple digit sales is not unheard of.
Cut #5 “If we take a look at Navigator sales we were up 120 percent at retail in the month of June, and really it’s been triple digits all year long when you start looking at the monthly year over year gains, we were up 116 percent throught the first half of the year. So Lincoln is doing everything they can to keep up with demand. We had a capacity expansion here in June which will allow us to make more Navigators which will allow us to have a better supply of them, as we get into the second half.” :30 sec.
