Overview

Now in continuous production for 59 years, Ford E-Series is available in cutaway and stripped chassis models that are used for applications like shuttle buses, ambulances and small RVs.

E-Series includes a modern instrument panel with new cluster, steering wheel and standard AM/FM stereo radio featuring Bluetooth functionality and USB ports. Like all Ford commercial vehicles, E-Series includes a standard modem which provides an available Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 10 devices. The modem also facilitates the use of Ford Telematics from Ford Commercial Solutions, so fleet customers can monitor their fleets with GPS tracking and geofencing, get live vehicle health alerts to plan and limit downtime, set reminders for vehicle service, analyze driver behavior, and help manage fuel usage to potentially reduce costs. Traction control, hill start assist and electronic Stability Control are also standard.

A number of driver-assist technologies are available on E-Series Cutaway, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Lane Departure Warning and a Driver Alert system. New Ford Telematics and Ford Data Services are available to help commercial customers operate their fleets more efficiently. Available Vehicle Integration System provides a more seamless experience with installed equipment.

Two unique engine calibrations for the 7.3-liter V8 engine let E-Series customers choose the best horsepower and torque application for their needs. For customers who prefer alternative fuels, Ford is also offering a gaseous fuel prep package for the 7.3-liter V8 gasoline engine. The package includes upgraded valvetrain components to withstand higher operating temperatures and lower lubricity of gaseous fuels so the vehicle can be converted by a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier to run on CNG or propane. A best-in-class maximum GVWR of 14,500 pounds lets E-Series carry heavy van upfits or RV chassis.

E-Series cutaway receives a new scalloped engine access cover this year that provides additional legroom in response to customer requests from the recreational vehicle industry.

Customers looking for an affordable solution to meeting alternative fuel goals will see new choices with 2022 E-Series cutaways and stripped chassis as Ford adds available flex fuel capability for the 7.3-liter V8 gasoline engine in both premium and economy calibrations. E-Series with flex fuel capability can run on gasoline or blends of up to 85 percent ethanol, or E85. Ford expects this to be a popular option for state and federal fleets.
