Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety compliance recall for approximately 433,000 vehicles in North America, including certain 2015 Focus, C-MAX and Escape vehicles, for an issue with the body control module.

DEARBORN, Mich., May 12, 2015 – Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for approximately 12,300 2015-model Ford F-150 vehicles in North America for an upper I-shaft that might have been riveted improperly, potentially causing it to separate.
Ford Motor Company is expanding a safety recall regarding door latches to include approximately 156,000 more vehicles at the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, bringing the total to 545,906 vehicles in North America.

Ford is issuing a safety recall for 538 service replacement steering gears that may have been installed on 2008-2010 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty diesel vehicles in North America.
Ford Motor Credit Company reported a pre-tax profit of $1.9 billion in 2014, its highest since 2011, up from $1.8 billion a year earlier. The improvement is more than explained by higher volume, partially offset by unfavorable lease residual performance in North America and lower financing margin. Ford Credit’s net income was $1.7 billion in 2014, compared with $1.5 billion in the previous year. The increase in net income reflects favorable tax items recorded during the year.
At the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Ford is expanding its recall on Takata driver-side airbag inflators. This recall includes approximately 502,489 vehicles, an addition of approximately 447,310 vehicles.
Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 730 2015 Ford Mustang vehicles in North America (actual 728) for a potential fuel line leak. A fuel pressure sensor, which is part of the fuel supply tube assembly, may have been installed incorrectly, potentially resulting in a pressurized fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire.
Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 20,000 2014 Transit Connect cargo van vehicles in North America (actual 19,825) for an issue with adhesion of an exterior plastic panel to the sliding doors.
At the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford is expanding its regional recall on Takata passenger-side airbag inflators. This recall includes approximately 38,500 vehicles in the United States and federalized territories, an additional 13,000 vehicles approximately. This brings the total number of Ford vehicles being recalled for all issues related to Takata airbag inflators to approximately 98,000.
Ford is issuing a safety compliance recall for approximately 65,000 Fusion vehicles in North America for a programming issue in the instrument cluster. This issue allows the key to be removed 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off, even if the transmission is not in Park. This is a compliance issue with FMVSS 114, a regulation involving theft protection and rollaway prevention.
Ford is issuing five safety recalls in North America. In one instance, there is one accident attributed to a condition. No injuries are attributed in any of these conditions.
Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 205,000 (actual 204,448) 2007-2008 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles in corrosion states and provinces in North America for possible corrosion under the reinforcement brackets where the fuel tank is mounted to the vehicle.

The higher pre-tax profit was more than explained by higher volume, reflecting increases in nearly all financing products, including non-consumer and consumer finance receivables globally, as well as leasing in North America. Ford Credit’s net income was $718 million in the third quarter of 2014, compared with $272 million in the previous year. The increase was primarily driven by favorable tax items recorded in the third quarter.
Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 50 (actual 53) 2015 Ford Mustang vehicles for a potential issue with the passenger safety belt buckle assembly.

Ford is revising the total volumes of a safety recall for approximately 5,675 2014 Ford F-150 trucks for a potential issue with the electronic power assist steering gears. The affected EPAS steering gears may have a motor position sensor magnet that was incorrectly installed by the supplier.

Partial offsets were higher credit losses due to lower credit loss reserve reductions in all geographic segments and unfavorable residual performance related to lower than expected auction values in North America. Ford Credit’s net income was $1.5 billion in 2013, compared with $1.2 billion in the previous year.
